"We were in the ER/trauma unit of Jefferson Hospital until around 4:30-5am this morning before they released him as having a concussion , fractured ribs and on more or less as 28-48 hour abdominal watch because the ultrasound showed what they think possibly could be fluid [i.e. -kidney or spleen issues.  They did rule out the punctured lung though. They released him provided he followed up w/reg. doc on Monday but if his breathing becomes labored/painful or he develops stomach pains, we readmit him to the hospital.  He really did not want to stay in PA so they let us go since we live right across from a hospital in NJ."  "...he won't be needing surgery...they were worried that there would be an abundance of abdominal fluid from the impact...ergo...  kidney and spleen damage but they said it wasn't to that point...but he will certainly be sore for a while..."
